PETE WYNDORF M.A.T. (he/him)

Pete is a public educator, committed social justice leader, musician, and filmmaker. With more than thirteen years experience teaching social studies and creative media at Milton High School, Pete lives with his teenage daughter and fellow public educator partner in Burlington, VT. Pete’s focus is on identifying, understanding, and responding to the ways white supremacy culture manifests in his body, thoughts, and actions, and he uses that practice to disrupt systems of oppression in professional and personal settings. Pete co-facilitates a multi-racial youth social justice group at MHS, is the founder of the Milton Creative Media Lab, and serves as a school equity leader, addressing the role of white supremacy culture in education, and supporting youth, faculty, and staff in transformational change. Pete received the 2020 CVEDC Innovative Teaching Award, and was named the UVM Teacher of the Year for the Milton Town School District in 2013. Additionally, Pete has experience teaching at a bilingual international school in Vietnam, as well as providing professional development to teachers across the state of Vermont through the Middle Grades Institute.
